Barbora Špotáková, javelin thrower, two-time Olympic champion from the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympics. She was third at the Rio 2016 Games. She won the title of world champion in Osaka in 2007, and another one ten years later in London. After the victory in London, she also came close to a triumph in the Diamond League, which she confirmed by winning the final meeting in Brussels. In Zurich 2014, she completed her collection of “big” gold medals by winning the European Championship. Since 13 September 2008, Barbora Špotáková has held the world record in the javelin throw with a distance of 72.28 m, achieved in Stuttgart. She is also a twotime winner of the Sportsperson of the Year poll of the Czech Republic.
